TRAMER TERMINAL (SPAIN, 2015-2016)

In this project, the construction of a new terminal aimed for the salt storage at Barcelona Harbour (Álvarez de la Campa dock) is carried out. Two warehouses with a surface of 14900 m2 and 12300 m2 respectively, with 21 m high mounds of salt, are being constructed.

Among other questions, our contribution helped to optimize the piled slabs and, consequently, a relevant cost saving has been achieved.

PRO GEO geotechnical design experience has helped to solve the following aspects:

  • Optimization of the piled slab foundations.
  • 2D and 3D geomechanical model of different sections of the terminal. Interaction soil-structure.
  • Evaluation of possible effects on Álvarez de la Campa dock.
  • Driven piles static and dynamic load tests. Results analysis.
