The Culture Department of Generalitat de Catalunya hires PRO GEO to develope the construction project for the mitigation of the movements of the rock mass in Fumanya Sud’s paleontological site , with global and valid long-term actions.

The priority of the project itself has been the definition of a technical solution that does not damage the icnites present on the slope, since they have a very high historical and cultural value.

PRO GEO’s experience has allowed us to carry out the following aspects:

• Field visits including obtaining rock samples and conducting geomechanical stations.
• Kinematic and dynamic analysis of the geomechanical stations measured discontinuities.
• Two-dimensional geomechanical modeling with Plaxis 2D, for the design of the drainage system based on Californian drains distributed depending on the position of the icnites.
• Two-dimensional geomechanical modeling with Rocfall for the design of a dynamic barrier on the upper slope consisting of a cemented quaternary deposit.
