SÃO JOSE DO NORTE HARBOUR (BRAZIL, 2013-2015)

São Jose do Norte dock (Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil) is 880 m long and 25 m wide. Dredge level is 12 m below sea surface and has been built to allow offshore oil structures. It is a closed dock with concrete piles and slurry walls. One of the most relevant features of this design is the high values of the design crane loads (up to 200 kPa).

Our expertise has allowed a relevant improvement in dock previous design.

PRO GEO geotechnical design experience has helped to solve the following problems:

  • Project coordination.
  • Geotechnical survey design.
  • Assessment of possible soil improvement techniques.
  • Geomechanical modeling of the different dock sections. Soil structure interaction.
  • Geotechnical monitoring results analysis.
  • Pile static load tests definition, prediction and analysis.
